Social Code finalist at SXSWV2V
Riding on the recent success in Chicago, we were thrilled that Social Code was selected as a finalist in the Health Technologies category for the first-ever SXSWV2V Venture competition. The event took place at the inaugural conference on August 13-14, 2013 at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Our online community and behavior change platform, using social technologies, mobile interventions, game mechanics and big data, was up against some of the brightest startups in health technology.
Our founder Siobhan Bulfin said “We’re delighted to have been selected as a finalist in this category at the inaugural V2Venture Competition. It’s great to see investors realising the potential in disruptive health technologies and their ability to save insurers, employers, pharma and the govt, hundreds of millions of dollars.”
“Within 3-5 years, every drug and every disease will have an online community attached. Nurse specialists and health providers will participate in these communities and behavior change tools will empower and enable patients to take some control of their health.”
V2Venture is a fast-paced, two-day pitch event geared to take the most innovative startups through a rigorous review and rehearsal process before unleashing them on a live audience and panel of esteemed judges. More than 200 companies submitted to present at V2Venture, where Social Code was selected as one of 5 finalists in the Health Technologies category.
