California State University (CSU) held its annual Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs (ATOD) conference at the Channel Islands campus this year. Held over two beautiful, sunny days, Social Code was delighted to be invited to present our findings from GoalPost, our smartphone app for smoking cessation. The presentation was titled: The Impact of Social Media and Mobile Technology on Health Behavior Change: Recent Findings from a Smartphone Application for Smoking Cessation.

The sold out event brought together educators, health organizations and students united towards one goal: Innovative thinking formulated in preventive and intervention strategies surrounding alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.

We were absolutely honoured and thrilled by the interest for GoalPost, as well as our new binge drinking prevention app, DrinkSmart. There were lots of engaging conversations at our GoalPost poster, and we were able to chat face-to-face with the college staff and students. This gave us a better understanding of campus life, and how we can work together to help to make a difference in the lives of the students.

Thank you very much to CSU for the invitation, and also to the dedicated staff and students who attended. If you would like more information about our poster, flyers or apps, please contact Rin(at)socialcode.io
